چکیده

Two iterative methods for the calculation of acoustic transmission through a rough interface between two media are compared. The methods employ a continuous version of the conjugate gradient technique. One method is based on plane-wave expansions and the other on boundary integral equations and Green’s functions. A preconditioner is presented which improves the convergence for spectra that include evanescent modes. The methods are compared with regard to computational efficiency, rate of convergence, and residual error. The sound field differences are determined for a focused ultrasound beam distorted by surfaces having a Gaussian roughness spectrum. The differences are evaluated from the root-mean-square differences on the rough surface and in the focal plane. © 1996 Acoustical Society of America.

Micromechanics of Rough Interfaces

The mechanical behavior of rough interfaces is modeled from a micromechanical viewpoint. A kinematically driven mechanistic approach is adopted which explicitly considers the interaction of asperities on the fracture surface. The mating asperities are assumed to behave in accordance with contact mechanics postulates of non-conforming bodies. The roughness of the fracture surface is represented ...

Plane Wave Propagation Through a Planer Slab

An approximation technique is considered for computing transmission and reflection coefficients for propagation of an elastic pulse through a planar slab of finite width. The propagation of elastic pulse through a planar slab is derived from first principles using straightforward time-dependent method. The paper ends with calculations of enhancement factor for the elastic plane wave and it is s...

کاربرد روش معادله سهموی در تحلیل مسائل انتشار امواج داخل ساختمان

With the rapid growth of indoor wireless communication systems, the need to accurately model radio wave propagation inside the building environments has increased. Many site-specific methods have been proposed for modeling indoor radio channels. Among these methods, the ray tracing algorithm and the finite-difference time domain (FDTD) method are the most popular ones. The ray tracing approach ...

Quasi-Ray Gaussian Beam Algorithm for Time-Harmonic Two-Dimensional Scattering by Moderately Rough Interfaces

Gabor-based Gaussian beam (GB) algorithms, in conjunction with the complex source point (CSP) method for generating beam-like wave objects, have found application in a variety of high-frequency wave propagation and diffraction scenarios. Of special interest for efficient numerical implementation is the noncollimated narrow-waisted species of GB, which reduces the computationally intensive compl...
